The New Classroom: What You NEED To Know.

It seems the new Cambly classroom may be getting a bigger rollout at the moment, as many tutors are reporting having used it. While it’s a slight departure from the old classroom in the way it’s set out, there are a few things that are very different. The main things are…

STAY IN THE CLASSROOM!!!!!!

As tutors, we’ve been consistently told to NOT wait in the classroom if a student leaves, we shouldn’t just stay there if a student decides to walk away from the screen. Also if there was an issue, tutors could leave the class and reenter again to hopefully fix it. Not any more!!  As soon as you leave the classroom, the class is over and you lose any remaining time! Please do not close your class during a lesson, refresh the tab if needed or maybe open another tab, but DO NOT LEAVE THE CLASSROOM!

YOU ARE ONLY PAID FOR TIME IN THE CLASSROOM DURING THE SCHEDULED LESSON TIME!

If you have a scheduled class from 2pm to 2.30 your ‘payment clock’ starts ticking at 2pm and finishes at 2.30pm. If you are in your classroom at 2pm and close it at 2.30 you get your 30 minutes.

REMEMBER, if you decide to come into the class at 1.55pm to wait for your student and then you finish the class at 2.30pm, you still get 30 mins.  Your payment clock starts at 2pm.

REMEMBER, if you decide to go over time a little and finish at 2.32pm. you get 30 minutes. Your payment clock finishes at 2.30pm.

REMEMBER, if a student comes in 3 minutes late and you’ve been waiting since 2pm and you finish at 2.30pm. You get 30mins. Your payment clock starts at 2pm and finishes at 2.30pm.

REMEMBER, if  you miss the start of your class you are only paid from when you enter to the scheduled finish time. In the old classroom you could finish a few minutes later than scheduled and make up for your lateness. Not any more!

YOU ARE ONLY PAID FOR TIME IN THE CLASSROOM DURING YOUR SCHEDULED LESSON. GET THERE ON TIME, FINISH ON TIME. IF YOU HAVE A LATE SHOW IN THE OLD CLASSROOM,  TELL YOUR STUDENTS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WORK PAST YOUR SCHEDULED TIME.
