Is this finally the end of Cambly free trials!!!!!

Recently Cambly tutors were sent a message saying that Cambly would soon be letting students purchase group trial lessons. The important word here is ‘purchase‘. As tutors here at Camblyland, we are all very aware of the limitations of free trial lessons, especially the female tutors amongst us, see this post for more info. But now that Cambly have started getting students to purchase group trial lessons, does that mean that all trial lessons will soon have to be paid?  Is Cambly testing the water with group lessons to see how it goes?

As with the big companies, like Google for example, a lot of products are initially given free.  Once they become popular and have a big user base, they become paid (I’m looking at you Gmail). So it makes sense that a Company like Cambly would do the same. Let’s hope they are, because while free trials are a great way to get new students, they’re also a way for some people to abuse the system and the tutors.
